National Sun Yat-sen University launched the Center for Carbon Research and Solutions
as a pioneering green economy think tank in Taiwan
The Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange (TCX) was officially launched in Kaohsiung in August 2023, signifying Taiwan’s entry into the worldwide carbon emission trading market. To integrate the resources of systematic research of net zero carbon emission-related investment and innovative techniques, assist with international regulatory cooperation, and provide training and consulting services, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) has established the Center for Carbon Research and Solutions (CCRS).
NSYSU
Center for Carbon Research & Solutions
The Center aims to advocate for net-zero and recycling economies across industries and governmental bodies. Engaging in aperiodic collaborations such as exhibitions, training, lectures, seminars, and community activities with a focus on domestic and international professionals. Our commitment extends to pioneering and practical research, emphasizing the application of technology and knowledge in academia. Through in-depth foundational research on recycling economy technology, we facilitate its integration into industries, minimizing environmental pollution and aiding the transformation of industries towards becoming zero-pollution or low-pollution green entities.
Net-zero Carbon Reduction
Key force for global industry development
The concept of sustainable development, maintaining a balance between economic growth, social development, and environmental protection, is currently driving global ESG issues (Environmental Protection, Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance). Net-zero carbon reduction stands as a pivotal force for the upcoming era of worldwide industrial development, fundamentally shaping Taiwan's economic mission in this new phase. National Sun Yat-sen University is poised to offer essential analysis and counsel on ESG, green finance, and the establishment of a carbon trading market.
Our goal
Strive for Taiwan's complete carbon neutrality by 2050!
The CCRS is committed to offer carbon consulting services and courses, these encompass immediate solutions for domestic industries grappling with global carbon emission fees, along with comprehensive insights into carbon inventories, carbon rights, and emissions trading. The Center will also conduct systematic research on net zero-related investments, innovative techniques, and international regulatory cooperation to analyze policies regarding ESG, green financing, and the establishment of a carbon emission trade market. The ultimate objective is to propel the national carbon reduction technology chain, foster industrial clustering, and establish robust industrial ecosystems. This strategic approach aligns with Taiwan's ambitious target of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
